A Recent Writing

This publication is framed around the idea of showcasing writing that has already been forming or published within the past few months. It is a collection of journalistic essays, articles, reviews, and responses, interspersed with poetry. To publish the collected recent writing of two Rotterdam-based artists is to demonstrate the power of community within this art scene, as writing about or around art happens as much through the initiative of peers and self motivation as it does through formal invitation. The writing ranges from commissioned texts, to pseudonymously published texts, to texts written in two voices, to texts written with desire as their sole validation. The writing explores what it means to be creating, viewing and writing about art and writing as art in Rotterdam at this moment.
